Ada Health makes the Ada app, a free AI symptom checker. You answer questions about your symptoms (in the US you can also describe them in your own words), and Ada compares your answers against thousands of conditions to give a report on what may be wrong and what you could do next. Its assessment is a CE-marked medical device in the EU, and Ada says it cannot give a medical diagnosis.
Emerge Care does a different job. It does not suggest possible conditions. It is an iPhone health companion for the time between visits: you tell it how you feel, it keeps the log on your phone, answers with named sources, and builds a one-page summary for your next appointment.

You can run an assessment for a family member or someone in your care.
Can you use both?
Yes. Ada can help when something new comes up and you want to know possible causes and how soon to get care; Emerge Care keeps your day-to-day log of how you feel and gets you ready for the appointment. Neither replaces your clinician.
Questions
Is Ada Health free?
Yes. The Ada app is free in the US App Store, with no in-app purchases listed (checked 15 October 2026). Check the App Store in case that changes.
Is Ada on Android?
Yes. Ada is on Google Play as well as the App Store. Emerge Care is iPhone only.
Can Ada diagnose me?
No. Ada says its app cannot give you a medical diagnosis and does not replace your doctor. It suggests possible causes and next steps. Emerge Care never diagnoses either.
Where does Ada store my health data?
Ada's privacy policy (last modified 21 April 2026) says health data is stored on cloud servers in the EU and is not sold. Its App Store privacy label lists some data, such as location, identifiers and usage data, as possibly used to track you. Emerge Care stores health records and chats on your iPhone.
Does Ada track symptoms over time?
Ada saves a history of your assessments, but its 2026 update removed the symptom, medication and allergy trackers. Emerge Care is built around an ongoing log of how you feel, in your own words.
Can either app make a summary for my doctor?
Both. Ada lets you export assessment reports to share with your doctor. Emerge Care builds a one-page visit summary PDF from your log, Apple Health data and labs, with your questions at the end.
Does Ada show sources for its answers?
We found no source citations shown to users. Ada says its medical knowledge is built and overseen by its own doctors. Emerge Care names a source for each health fact and says so when it has none.
Can I use Ada and Emerge Care together?
Yes. Ada for checking a new symptom, Emerge Care for your ongoing log, sourced answers and the summary you bring to your clinician.
