Questions

Where do these doctor listings come from?

From the CMS NPPES NPI Registry, the public federal record of licensed healthcare providers. We list a selection of doctors per state whose primary specialty matches. Being listed is not a recommendation.

How do I know if a doctor takes my insurance?

Call the doctor's office or check your insurance plan's provider directory. Networks change often, so confirm before you book.

How do I prepare for a doctor appointment?

Bring a list of everything you take, your insurance card, recent results, and notes on your symptoms: when they started, how often and how strong. Write your top three questions down before you go.

What should I do after a doctor visit?

Write down the plan while it is fresh, book any follow-ups and tests, and keep track of how you feel until the next visit. Emerge Care, free to download on iPhone, logs symptoms in your own words and builds a one-page summary for your next appointment.
